2 people dead, 2 injured in Toronto area shootings over the weekend


One person is dead following a Sunday evening shooting at a convenience store in Mississauga.
It caps off a weekend that saw several people injured by gunfire in the Toronto area.
The shooting occurred around 6:30 at a plaza on North Service
Road, near Cawthra Road and the QEW.
Police found a a car riddled with bullets and a man in his 20s
without vital signs.
On Saturday night, 28 year old Jermaine Smith died after being
shot at a community event near Dundas and Jane Streets.
A 23 year old man remains in critical condition after being shot several times near Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue.
And a 22 year old man has non-life threatening injuries after being shot in the leg in the Eglinton Avenue and Kennedy Road area.
