Deadly crash in Niagara Falls

A deadly morning car crash shut down Falls View Avenue in Niagara Falls for hours this morning.

The accident happened around 8:30 this morning on Falls View Avenue near the Victoria Avenue exit. It left a Niagara woman dead, but neighbors in the area didn’t seem to surprised that an accident happened, because they say cars speed down that road all the time.

The accident killed 33 year old Rie Mitomitsu.

Two vehicles were traveling east when the driver of the car realized she was trying to take the Victoria exit. That’s when she tried to switch lanes, hit a truck, and spiraled out of control into a pole.

Officers are still investigating if speed was a factor in this accident, but they agree that drivers need to be more aware on the roads.
