De Caire praises outgoing Toronto Police chief

Hamilton’s police chief Glenn De Caire will not comment on whether he would like to replace Toronto chief Bill Blair when his contract expires, but has released a statement about Blair.

“Chief Blair has shown leadership, committment and professionalism to public safety in the City of Toronto as the chief of police for the last ten years and has served the people of Toronto for almost four decades,” said Blair in a statement.

De Caire’s statement also reads, “I had the honour to serve beside Chief Blair for many years and consider it to have been a professional honour to support his honesty, integrity, dedication and outstanding support for community policing.”
