Daycare help for first responders

The Ontario government is stepping in to help front line workers in the fight against the COVID-19 virus with their unexpected daycare expenses. Governments everywhere are dealing with health care challenges that are truly unprecedented. In Ontario, many doctors, nurses, paramedics and other frontline workers have been unable to respond to those challenges since schools and daycare centres were closed. Guided by advice from the province’s medical officer of health, Education Minister Stephen Lecce says providing this service will enable many to go back to work and take part in the fight. The minister said organizing the daycare centres will be done quickly and should be ready to go at the end of this coming week. He added child safety can be ensured by restricting the types of centres that can re-open – and by keeping the number of children in any one centre low.
