While Hamilton, Halton and Niagara enter day five of Environment Canada’s fog advisory, things are clearing up in the south.

Haldimand-Norfolk region had its advisory lifted shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.

The advisory came into effect on Christmas Eve and has remained in place for several days in a row.

Drivers are urged to be careful while travelling, with the federal agency warning that visibility in some cases may be reduced to “near zero.”

It says that if visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

A fog-filled crash in Hamilton claimed one man’s life and sent three others to hospital Tuesday.
