Day 3 of deliberations

Deliberations are now done for the night.

Today jury deliberations in the Tim Bosma murder trial were suspended so one of them could get medical attention. In the middle of hearing evidence, the judge called a sudden break. It turned out a juror had an incapacitating migraine and was sent to get medical treatment. He was back after lunch, apologized to the court in a note and said he was feeling back to normal. The six men and six women were back deciding the fate of Dellen Millard and Mark Smich.

We have been hearing stories from many people behind the scenes for months now, but couldn’t report any of them until the jury was sequestered. Last night Lisa Hepfner reported that Millard was found with drugs and a knife in his cell just last week and he’s now getting an extra search in and out of court. He will be sitting next to Mark Smich in the prisoner box for the verdict.  Lisa also reported was that Dellen Millard started yelling after he left court the day Mark Smich testified. He screamed the f’ word and idiot.

Last week, there was a moment when Millard caught sight of his co-accused, when Smich was alone in a cell. He yelled to Smich, if I’m Walt Disney, you are f’ing Goofy. People following this case will remember that when Mark Smich was on the stand a month ago, he called Millard “Walt Disney” in reference to the fantasy scenarios he says Millard dreamed up to excuse the murder of Tim Bosma. That testimony was May 19, so Millard was seemingly miffed by the words of his co-accused for some time.

Millard seems to think he has a good relationship with jail guards and court security but we’re told they don’t feel the same way. Not long ago Millard tried to buy them all pizza, they told him to “shove it.” From evidence we heard at trial, Millard likes to buy things for people.
