Date set for new evidence in Mellor case

Hamilton Police sergeant Derek Mellor’s former partner will present evidence on September 29th.

The date was decided this morning during a conference call. Sergeant David Hartless is expected to shed some light on accusations against Mellor. Mellor was the first officer assigned solely to human trafficking, and is now facing 11 charges of misconduct for allegedly having sexual relationships with two witnesses.

He’s also accused of sending sexual pictures and videos to them, and to women employed in the victim services agency.

Mellor’s hearing is expected to be held this November.
