Darts bus found on wrong side of railway crossing gate

A driver for Hamilton’s disabled and aged regional transit service — Darts — is facing disciplinary action over a safety violation.

It comes after this photo was posted on the Facebook page Only In Hamilton. It shows a Darts bus between the crossing barrier and the train tracks on Parkdale Ave.

Darts’ executive director says the driver was distracted at the time, and stopped too close to the tracks just before the crossing barrier came down.

It’s not known if any passengers were on board.
