Cyclist hospitalized following Stoney Creek Mountain collision

A 34-year-old man was hit by a car while riding a bike on Upper Centennial Parkway in Stoney Creek and sent to hospital early this morning.
Hamilton police were dispatched to a vehicle collision at 1 a.m. to the Stoney Creek highway. There they found the cyclist with cuts on his legs and forehead and a swollen face from the hit before being sent to hospital.
Police say the cyclist is in non-life-threatening condition.
Officers believe a Silver Chrysler 300 was travelling southbound on the highway when they hit the cyclist.
The department is investigating the collision but the driver of the car is cooperating with police.
The highway was closed for few hours but was reopened at around 3:30 a.m.
