Cyclist, 11, seriously injured after being hit by SUV in NOTL

An 11-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Virgil.
Niagara police said the girl was riding her bike near Niagara Stone and Field roads shortly before 4:30 p.m. when a black Buick Enclave hit her.
Officers said the 70-year-old woman from Niagara-on-the-Lake driving the SUV was exiting a parking lot at the time of the accident.
Paramedics treated the cyclist at the scene and then brought her to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Portions of Niagara Stone Rd. were closed until 9:15 p.m. as police investigated.

No charges have been laid in connection with this incident.
