Cycling Without Age in Hamilton, Burlington is looking for ‘pilots’

The Hamilton-Burlington Cycling Without Age program is looking for volunteers to steer motorized trishaws along trails.

The goal of the program is to take people who face barriers to movement out on rides along nature and waterfront trails.

Cycling Without Age began in Denmark in 2012 by Ole Kassow, who wanted to help seniors with limited mobility get back on their bicycles.

The rides are free, and so is the training to become a volunteer pilot.

An online information session on becoming a volunteer is being held Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.

The non-profit organization says they are working to schedule training sessions on the trishaw indoors in April and outside in May.

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact cwahamilton@gmail.com for more information.
