Hamilton’s hair designers will be cutting hair in support of the city’s homeless.

The annual Albert Snow cutathon is in its 14th year. The McMaster Student Outreach Collaborative – also known as Mac SOC – has received over $100,000 since the initiative began.

This Sunday, customers who come in will receive a $65 haircut for only $25. All proceeds including tips will go to help the homeless and those at risk of being homeless in Hamilton.

The co-president of Mac SOC, Evan Sheppard explained the event’s goal. “We strive to create a community in downtown Hamilton. We do this through handing out sandwiches, clothing, as well as creating a supportive environment where we can do some health teaching and get to know our community members.”

The cutathon will take place at the Albert Snow Hair Design studio in Westdale from 9 am to 3 pm. The event is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
