Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is uniting world class researchers to change the face of public healthcare.
Press conferences were held in Montreal, Toronto and Hamilton on Wednesday to announce the unveiling of a new network called “promoting access and care through centres of excellence” or PACE. The network aims to benefit the nearly 250 000 Canadians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Speakers at the McMaster university event noted unequal access to healthcare a prime issue the initiative hopes to correct.
McMaster university is among the five centres chosen by Chron’s and colitis to invest in supporting patient care. Over time, PACE plans to add more centres of excellence to the network and share its findings across inflammatory bowel disease healthcare providers to ensure the research will benefit all Crohn’s and colitis patients.
