Crews rescue 68-year-old woman from fire in Niagara Falls area

A 68-year-old woman has been taken to hospital in life-threatening condition Wednesday afternoon after being removed from a burning building in the Niagara Falls area.
Niagara Falls Fire Chief Jo Zambito says crews responded around 11 a.m. to a fire in Chippawa.
Crews reportedly found the woman on the second floor of the home without vital signs and resuscitative efforts were performed before she was taken to hospital.

Zambito says there was only the one woman home at the time of the fire, which started on the second floor.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire but there is significant damage to the second floor and the Ontario Fire Marshal is on scene.
