An 18-year old driver from Stoney Creek has been charged with careless driving after three people were shaken up in a single vehicle crash in Hamilton Tuesday morning.

The driver of the Jeep lost control of the vehicle and struck a hydro pole near the intersection of Upper Centennial Parkway and Green Mountain Road West around 3am.

The crash knocked down several power lines which kept Upper Centennial Parkway closed for a couple of hours. It has since reopened.

The driver has been taken to hospital, but is expected to be ok.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
