Halton police responded to the Fortino’s on Appleby Line in Burlington, Sunday but it wasn’t to an emergency call.

Police took part in the Cram A Cruiser event where they encouraged people to make a non-perishable food donation in support of the local food bank.

The campaign is in the lead up to the upcoming Thanksgiving long weekend when food banks are at one of their highest needs during the year.

Last year, Cram a Cruiser raised 5500 pounds of food and over $500 in cash donations.
