COVID-19 science table declares Ontario in the third wave of the pandemic

Ontario’s science advisers say the province is already in the third wave of COVID-19.

It’s due in part to the spread of more contagious variant cases and the slow vaccine rollout.

The advisory table says more transmissible virus variants account for almost half of new COVID-19 cases.

The group says the growth in those cases is taking place across the province.

It says almost two-thirds of public health units are experiencing exponential growth

Premier Ford is warning Ontarians to be cautious.
