COVID-19 safety campaign for Hamilton’s young adults

The city of Hamilton has launched a new COVID-19 safety campaign aimed at young people.
Health officials say cases of the virus have been increasing in people aged 20-29.
The city says people in their 20s make up 163 – or 20 per cent – of Hamilton’s 802 total cases.
The age group accounts for 44 per cent of new cases since June 12.
Officials say this is likely the result of people not following physical distancing rules and hygiene protocols.
But also believe messaging could be an issue.
That’s where the new campaign comes in.
Physically Distance Hamilton Style includes social media posts and advertising around the city using Hamilton-specific icons.
The city will work with post-secondary schools, workplaces and local business development groups to help get the message out.
The city says young adults are as likely to get COVID-19 as older adults, but typically experience milder symptoms.
