COVID-19 Parliamentary committee resumes

The special COVID-19 Parliamentary committee will resume sitting today, but not without some changes.
The government motion to continue with an expanded version of the special COVID-19 committee, which has acted as a stand-in for the chamber over the past month, passed in the the house of commons 28-23.
Liberal, NDP and Green MPs voted in favour, while Conservative and Bloc Quebecois MPs voted against it.
They contend that continuing normal operations in the commons with a reduced number of MPs in the chamber is necessary for the proper functioning of Canada’s democracy.
