COVID-19 outbreak declared at Hamilton apartment complex

An outbreak has been declared at an apartment complex on Rebecca Street in Hamilton.

Rebecca Towers, located near Wilson St. and Wellington St. N, has 28 active COVID-19 infections as of Tuesday.

The cases are spread across 17 units and ten floors in the 17-storey building.

Public health is working with property management to determine what may have contributed to the spread of the virus.

Hamilton Public Health Services reporting 67 cases and one death at the building on Wednesday.

Paramedic are expected to be on site on Thursday to provide testing to residents.
