COVID-19 outbreak at St. Joseph’s West 5th Campus

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the hospital’s West 5th campus.

In a statement, St. Joseph’s says the four infected employees are from a third-party organization.

It does not say when the employees were last in the building.

They are all self-isolating and contact tracing is taking place.

This is the city’s 12th active hospital outbreak. There are four at St. Joseph’s and eight at Hamilton Health Sciences.

There are 11 deaths related to these outbreaks.

As of Saturday, Hamilton has had a total of 9,123 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There are currently 650 active cases and 250 deaths. 8,096 cases have been resolved.
