Couple charged after 40 pythons found

A man and woman from Brantford are charged with three counts of animal cruelty after 40 python snakes and five eggs were found at a motel last week.
Brant County SPCA says the snakes are now at their shelter and range from one to four and a half feet in length.
They were left without water and stuffed in containers. The hotel manager says the snakes belonged to a local couple who were evicted by their landlord.
The accused – whose names haven’t been released – are charged with causing distress to an animal, failing to provide care necessary for an animal’s general welfare, and failing to provide adequate and appropriate water.
