Former CHCH reporter and anchor Donna Skelly officially began her political career today, after being sworn in as Hamilton ward seven’s newest councillor.

Skelly ran against 22 candidates in a tight by-election, each of whom was vying to fill the seat left vacant by former ward seven councillor Scott Duvall. Duvall became the member of parliament for Hamilton mountain in the fall.

While this is her first day as a municipal politician, Donna has covered local stories, including city council so she says she’s comfortable and ready to move forward.
