Kenton Van Pelt, 15, (left) is the fourth young person to die in Ontario waterways this month. He was going into grade 11 this fall at Hamilton District Christian High School.

Van Pelt was at the family cottage on Baxter Lake. He jumped off the boathouse into the water, and while OPP say he did re-surface, he then disappeared.

Van Pelt’s body was found later that night. OPP say he was an avid swimmer, and are reminding people to use the “buddy system” in the water.
