Coroners office looking into Makayla Sault death

The Ontario coroner’s office is looking into the death of the eleven year old first nations girl who stopped chemotherapy, in favour of traditional native healing.
Makayla Sault had leukemia and died Monday of a stroke. Her family says it was the result of 12 weeks of chemotherapy that Makayala had a year ago, but most experts say that’s not a side effect. The coroner’s office says it’s investigating, because Makayla died within a year of being involved with Children’s Aid, which happened when she stopped her treatment. Results of the investigation will only become public if an inquest is held.
