Former deputy prime minister ”approached” about top Liberal job.
Sheila Copps might seek the presidency of the Liberal Party of Canada.
The Liberals will be looking for a new president to run the party at its convention next January.
Copps was the Liberal MP for Hamilton East for 20 years until she left politics in 2004.
She says she is talked with interim Liberal Leader Bob Rae and other officials to determine the needs and future of the party.
Copps says she needs to do extensive homework before making a decision by the end of the summer.
