Contigo water bottles recalled due to choking hazard

Health Canada is recalling Contigo kids water bottle because the bottle’s silicone spout can detach causing a choking hazard to children.

Only water bottles with a black spout base and cover are included. They come in three different sizes and four colours. They were sold individually as well as in two and three-packs.

30 reports of the spout detaching have been reported in Canada and 149 in the U.S. but no reports of any injuries.

The product was sold in Canada, U.S. and Mexico from April 2018 to June 2019.

Consumers should immediately stop using the water bottles and contact Contigo at 888-262-0622 for a replacement lid.
