Construction at Lowville Park begins next month, park will remain open

The City of Burlington will begin construction on Lowville Park next month.

The park will remain open but as of Sept. 8, the parking lot will be closed as the city begins phase 2 of its plan.

The project includes renewal of the parking lot including a new asphalt surface, new entrance area and additional trees and plants.

Crews will also renovate two existing picnic areas in the park and put new signage in place.

Work is expected to be completed in December, weather permitting.

The City says during this time, visitors are encouraged to walk or bike to the park as there is only limited on-street parking at the east end of Lowville Park Dr.

There is no other on-street parking in the area.
