Community rallies around those affected by townhouse fire in Stoney Creek

The community is coming together to support those affected by a massive fire in Stoney Creek.

The blaze started early Monday morning and destroyed 11 townhouses on Edenrock Dr.

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office says there is a change the homes could collapse because of the extensive structural damage.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but investigators say it began as an exterior fire.

Flames were fanned by the wind and quickly spread to two different townhouse blocks.

A GoFundMe has been created for the families who lost homes.

“Luckily no human lives were lost but these families have lost their homes, some pets, all personal belongings, all cherished keepsakes, and all comfort,” says the GoFundMe page.
