Cold weather alert issued

Several public health units across Ontario have issued cold weather alerts.

With the wind, overnight Sunday temperatures felt like they were below minus 15, the threshold for a cold weather alert to be issued, and it’s expected to be even colder the next two nights.

So in Hamilton, the Salvation Army mobile soup kitchen will be offering soup and hot drinks to anyone who needs it.

Police will be patrolling alleys and behind buildings to help move homeless people into warm shelter. Several shelters in Hamilton say their beds are filling up.
