Coast Guard Search

The Canadian Coast Guard spent hours searching waters in the Hamilton area, after receiving an emergency signal. 

They sent in a C-130 Hercules aircraft to fly over the water.  Both the Hamilton and Toronto police marine units were called in to search the shoreline of Stoney Creek. 

The coast guard thought a boat was in trouble… but determined the emergency signal was coming from somewhere in the city — off barton.

Industry Canada has taken over the investigation.

Poor visibility from the fog made the search difficult.
