The Ontario Superior Court has certified a class action lawsuit launched by former students, who claim they were abused while attending Brantford’s W. Ross MacDonald School for the Blind.

They allege they suffered physical, emotional and sexual abuse while living at the provincially run school.

Their claims have not been proven in court.

The lawsuit involves as many as 1000 students who attended the school from 1951 until the present.
