Clarke’s murder suspect arrested before

Sandie Manning says before 18-year-old Brodie Nicholls was charged with second-degree murder he broke into her chip truck and stole four dollars and an iced tea.
“The system has deteriorated to the point where kids are killing kids and it’s not even a big deal, says Manning, who owns a local food truck. “Closed signs and locks mean nothing if there’s no consequences for bad behaviour.”
The incident happened on July 8 and according to Manning, Nicholls was charged and then released with conditions, including, not to have any contact with her.
But Manning claims Nicholls showed up to her chip truck. She says he apologized and handed her some change. That’s when she called police.
“The police arrested him again on Saturday for breach of conditions and the courts, says Manning.”The system let him go again and now there’s a dead fourteen year old.”
On August 19, Nicholls was charged with the second-degree murder of Jesse Clarke, following an altercation between two groups on Lincoln Avenue.
“This all could have been avoided if there’s consequences for bad behaviour, says Manning. “Don’t tell me theres not enough, the jails are overcrowded…well here’s a novel idea add a couple floors.”
Clarke’s body was laid to rest earlier today while Nicholls remains in custody.
“It’s sad because now two lives are messed,” says Manning.
