The city of Hamilton is providing drinkable water to Freelton residents affected by a bacterial infection in their community water supply.

Hamilton’s medical officer of health issued an advisory yesterday, telling people in Freelton to boil their water. Officials are not sure where the bacteria came from and say the advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

The drinkable water is available today from 3:30 to 8:30 pm, and tomorrow from noon to 8 pm at the Freelton Fire Hall, 1801 Brock Rd.
