The man accused of a brazen weekend shooting at Toronto’s Eaton Centre had worked with children at a city-run after school program just weeks before the fatal attack.

Christopher Husbands has a criminal record, including 2010 sexual assault charge that placed him under house arrest – but that didnt stop him from being hired. As Cristina Tenaglia reports, city staff are shocked to learn that a background check on the man fell through the cracks, and it’s prompted the city to change their hiring practices.
