City of Hamilton employee fired, charged by police for theft

A City of Hamilton employee has been fired and charged by police after city equipment was stolen.

The city auditor Charles Brown reported the matter to the Audit, Finance and Administration Committee, said a media release from the city.

The report involved the theft of city equipment, which was reported to Hamilton police by the city’s Human Resources Department.

The office of the city auditor is currently completing an audit of related processes.
