City of Burlington seeking 12 local artists for public art projects

The City of Burlington is continuing its annual Local Artist Program this year. It’s a program that commissions local artists to create a variety of small to medium scale artworks throughout the community.
“Art plays a powerful role in bringing people together to share common experiences and explore new ideas,” said the Manager of Arts and Culture Angela Paparizo. “Now, more than ever, artists share hope and inspiration in a time of crisis. We are pleased to bring this popular program back again this year and we encourage local artists to apply.”
The City is inviting local artists to submit their design ideas that will be installed on traffic control signal boxes throughout the city later this year.
Artists are encouraged to submit artwork that focuses on inspiring and uplifting the community to help offset these challenging times.
Burlington is also helping artists who want to apply but don’t know how to transfer their artwork/designs into a digital format via videoconferences on their website.
Application assistance will happen between July 6th and August 10th. Application deadline will be August 21st.
