The Hamilton Children’s Choir is heading to South Korea this summer. And to get there, the performers are taking fundraising into their own hands.

They’re putting on a concert they call Together as One. It’s a show the choristers developed themselves about how to work as a group, but still maintain one’s individuality.

Artistic director Zimfira Poloz calls it a change of pace from their usual routines. “It’s a very special production. It’s created by children, the programs the flyers, this idea, the whole idea. It’s a choral concert, very different from a regular choral concert.”

Member Jasmine Sojnocki calls it more fun than challenging. “It helped us out, we got to try new things. A lot of work got put into it and in the end it definitely paid off.”

The choir is attending the world symposium on choral music in Seoul in August. The concert is tonight at 7:30 at Theatre Aquarius.
