Lois Lilienstein of iconic Canadian children’s group Sharon, Lois & Bram has died.

Seen above in the centre, her son David says she died at home in Toronto at age 78, surrounded by friends. He says she had a rare form of cancer that was diagnosed last October.

She was born in Chicago in 1936, and met Sharon Hampson and Bram Morrison performing at the Mariposa in the Schools program. The trio recorded their debut album One Elephant, Deux Elephants in 1978.

Their popular The Elephant Show ran on CBC and on Nickelodeon in the states in the 1980’s. In 2002 Sharon, Lois & Bram were made members of the Order of Canada.
