Child killer Rainbow Hill sentenced to life in prison

Convicted child killer Rainbow Hill pleaded for mercy today, minutes before Justice Ann Tucker sentenced her to life in prison, with no chance of parole for 12 years.

In July 2011, Marissa’s mother, Roseanne, moved in with her girlfriend Rainbow Hill. During that time, Marissa was the target of abuse from her mother and Hill. The toddler was hit, slapped, and had her head smashed into the wall. She suffered blows to her face that left lasting bruises, and neither of the women stepped up to protect her.

On July 29th Hill flew into a rage because Marissa had a full diaper. Hill kicked the toddler in the stomach, and the little girl was fatally injured in the bathroom.

Rainbow and Roseanne concealed Marissa’s body by wrapping her in a garbage bag with the help of Hill’s sister Amanda Dipota. They buried her in a crude grave on the six nations reserve.

Hill is described as an angry alcoholic and drug addict. She got up in court today and through tears said she was sorry for the lives she destroyed, and asked the judge to have mercy on her.

Outside court, a group from the Ontario Coalition for Accountability tagged 25 balloons in Marissa’s memory, one for each month since she was killed.
