Cheese sold in Ontario recalled for risk of listeria

A type of cheese is being recalled in Ontario due to a possible listeria contamination.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling Igor brand Gorgonzola Dolce because it may be contaminated with listeria.

Food contaminated with listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Symptoms include nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.

The CFIA says the affected product was available to the general public and has a best-before date of Feb. 1, 2023.

The agency is encouraging consumers to throw out or return any products they’ve purchased that they believe are affected.
