Chedoke Golf Club brings summer inclusivity programming for kids

A program being offered at Hamilton’s Chedoke Golf Course is working to bring more young girls into the sport and make it more accessible, all with the aim of making golf more inclusive.
On Thursday, the Hamilton course ran an all-girls clinic to offer lessons to girls in the Hamilton area interested in learning more about the sport.
All selected golf courses for this programming will run the RBC Community Junior Golf Initiative, which is a partnership with the First Tee Canada and Youth on Course programs.
The First Tee and Youth on Course initiatives are being run at golf courses throughout Canada this summer, with Chedoke being one of the selected courses.
The program offers benefits for youth from the ages of five to 18, with Youth on the Course offering young golfers the chance to get on the course for $5 or less.

Youth interested in the Chedoke program will have the opportunity to work along-side PGA Pro and First Tee Head Coach Mark Arnett who will lead the initiative in Hamilton this year.
First Tee lessons are scheduled for every Thursday during the months of July and August with a six-youth-to-one-instructor ratio.
This is the second year that the city of Hamilton has been selected for the initiative.
First Tee programming can also be found in the Niagara region at the Legends on the Niagara Golf Course in Niagara Falls and the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, as well as in Brampton at the Peel Village Golf Course and in Brantford at the Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course.
More information on the program can be found on the RBC Junior Golf website.
