Chedoke brow lands development

The Ontario Municipal Board is allowing a developer to build 529 condominiums and town houses on the Chedoke brow lands near Scenic Drive.

Deanlee Management bought the land from Chedoke Health in 2007. At the time, the developer wanted to build 750 units, but the city opposed the plan and suggested 450 instead.

The OMB has approved a revised proposal saying the development is compatible with the surrounding neighbourhood. People on Hamilton’s west mountain, however, are disappointed with the decision.
