Charges upgraded in Niagara assault
A St. Catharines man has died of his injuries today, after being brutally assaulted on Sunday.
Police say 28-year old Michael Motz was involved in a fight with two people in St. Catharines on July 7th, and was later rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Police arrested 45-year old Anita Kooger, and 21-year old Ulysses Alligood, and originally charged the two with aggravated assault. Homicide detectives are investigating and say they will upgrade the charges to second degree murder at their next court appearance on Thursday.
Niagara Police are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately.
