Charges laid in St Catharines stabbing

Niagara Police have charged a St Catharines man in connection to a stabbing in the city’s north end.

It happened yesterday around 5:30 inside an apartment building at 5 Louis Ave. Police found a man suffering from a number of stab wounds.

He was taken first to a Niagara hospital, but then airlifted to Hamilton General where he remains in stable condition.

Marcel Martel, 22, of St Catharines faces one count of aggravated assault.
