Charges laid in infant assault

A Hamilton man is now facing charges after a child was rushed to hospital on Friday afternoon.

The man has been charged with aggravated assault, but police aren’t releasing much other information about the case.

EMS crews were called to a home in central Hamilton on Cannon near Sanford. The child – reportedly under 24 months old – was rushed to McMaster Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. Police say the child is still in hospital, but they haven’t given an update on the child’s condition.

Donald Quick, 31, has been charged with aggravated assault and will be in court for a bail hearing tomorrow.
