Charges laid in 2019 fire at Colton’s Fun Farm in Brantford

Ontario Provincial Police have laid arson charges in a fire at Colton’s Fun Farm in Brantford in 2019.

OPP officers responded to a report of a suspicious fire at the Jerseyville Rd. farm around 4:30 a.m. on June 5.

Four pygmy goats were killed and the blaze also destroyed a barn and truck.

In a news release sent out on Monday, OPP announced the arrest of two people. Police say they have been charged in connection with arsons in Stratford, Niagara, Brantford and Brant County.

Jayson Ronald Bigelow, 37, of Brantford is charged with five counts of arson – damage to property, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime – over $5,000.

Daniel Ryan Perry, 33, of Brantford is charged with five counts of arson – damage to property.

Both are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
