Charges in theft scam

A Markham man is facing several charges, after lying to police that his work truck was stolen.

24 year old Victor Annan told police he was pulled over by a man impersonating an officer.

He then said he was kidnapped by three masked men who stole his delivery truck full of cigarettes.

After further questioning, Annan admitted to police that he lied about the whole thing and that the theft had been planned.

The truck has been found, but the $415,000 worth of cigarettes are gone.
