Charges in Georgetown carjacking

A 20 year old is facing several charges after pulling a knife on his parents and leading police on two long chases that began in Georgetown late Tuesday night.

After his parents got out of their car, the son jumped into the driver’s seat and took off, hitting several vehicles before crashing.

Halton police say he then stole a car from a woman and sped off again.

Police caught up with him several times but had to call off the pursuit when the speeds got too high.

The OPP finally stopped and arrested the teen in Wingham after a drive of almost 150 kilometres.
