CFL draft update
With some of the top rated prospects having already signed with NFL teams, it made Linden Gaydosh even more desirable to the Tiger-Cats, and with the first overall pick in the CFL draft, the Ticats chose the 6′ 3″, 315 pound Defensive Tackle from the University of Calgary Dinos.
Gaydosh, a Peace River, Alberta native, had an impressive CFL combine in March, which added to his already impressive resume of work with the Dinos. Gaydosh’s Calgary teammate, Mike Edem, was taken third by the Alouettes.
Flipping the page, the Alouettes, who had two picks in the round, selected another Calgary Dino, Running Back, Steven Lumbala. McMaster’s Matt Sewell, who has signed with the Tennessee Titans, went to the Argos, 8th overall.
Here’s a look at what the Ticats did Monday. They chose another Defensive Lineman in the 2nd round, Brent Urban from the University of Virginia. A linebacker, Carl-Olivier Prime in the 3rd round, Receiver Simon Le Marquand from Ottawa in the 4th round.
And of note, on the last board, McMaster Defensive Back, Mike Daly, chosen in the 6th round. Daly, one of 5 Marauders taken Monday.
